I'm pleased to announce the availability of online piano lessons with me personally, from anywhere in the world! After a series of successful tests, I've discovered direct, one-on-one piano lessons online to be a highly practical solution for students seeking expert teaching but who are not, or are only infrequently, in Vienna to work with me at my studio.
The lessons take place via Skype, which makes free video calls in high quality possible. I can offer FaceTime support for those with Apple devices (Mac, iPhone or iPad) as well.
Prerequisites are a computer with a webcam, a high-speed internet connection and a piano.
My studio is equipped with professional recording equipment, so you'll be able to hear me and my piano in as high a quality as your playback equipment allows.
I can't expect my students to be similarly outfitted; the lessons therefore take this fact into account. Our online piano lesson topics will include ear training, piano theory, effective piano practice strategies and learning techniques.
key-notes attracts tens of thousands of visitors each month, and traffic continues to grow rapidly. As you might expect, I receive a lot of questions from visitors. Some of these questions are simple enough to be addressed in an article. Others, however, are so involved that attempting to condense an answer into a brief article would be doing my students a disservice. Indeed, some are so specific to a given individual that it would be useless to publish an answer to the site.
This is where one-on-one private online piano lessons enter. What piano students need most is the guidance of an expert teacher. This is a point I've stressed over and over again on this website. Expert teachers, however, are hard to come by, they are in demand, and they are expensive. (My own teachers' fees range from $175 to $400 per lesson.)
I cannot stress enough the importance of having the best-qualified teacher as early in your piano studies as possible.
This offer is open to amateur and professional-track students alike, aged 12 and up. The introductory fee is $100 (US) per 60-minute lesson.
